This book is sad (which I usually can't handle), but STICK WITH IT because it's so full of hope, redemption, and unconditional love that it makes the sad parts worth it. There's even suspense in the storyline, which I wouldn't have expected. The number of main characters is perfect and also makes it an easy read. It's hard to pull off a book about the Rainbow Bridge without bringing too much religion into it -- but this book nails it.
